Wife of F. Scott Fitzgerald, and an accomplished author in her own right, Zelda Fitzgerald was known for wholeheartedly embracing the glamorous lifestyle of the 1920s. Prohibition meant nothing to her, of course, and she always made sure to keep connections with various bootleggers to keep herself, her husband, and their guests in all the alcohol they required, even if it meant doing without some other necessities.

One of Zelda’s favorite alcoholic concoctions was simply to mix spirits with some kind of fruit juice, and she was especially fond of Vodka Lemonade, a refreshing blend that makes for an excellent summer drink. Use a quality vodka and a lemonade made with freshly squeezed lemons (store-bought is fine, but look for the highest-quality offering you can get). A garnish of mint adds the perfect topping!
