In this chapter I discussed how my brother Larry didn’t walk away from doing the things that made him successful in order to achieve significance. Instead, he shifted his focus to using his gifts and talents to benefit others.
Make a list of your top successes, your big wins based on your best skills, talents, and opportunities. You may come up with only one or two things, or your list may be quite extensive. Then think about how you could harness that success to help others. Could you use it as a springboard to help people? Could you teach others on your team how to succeed using your experience? Has it given you resources or opportunities that you could share with someone else? Should you harness your leadership by starting an organization that could make a difference? Be creative. Significance comes from using what you have to benefit others.
