Neither the creator nor the ordainer controls me in any way. Time has simply elapsed, Shakra—do not despise him!
shakra said:
How come you have abandoned Bali? What is the purpose of this, crested one? And how might you not leave me? Tell me this, sweetly smiling one.
shri said:
I abide in truth, charity, religious vows, asceticism, courage and righteousness, but Bali has turned away from these. In the past he was pious, honest and and a master of his senses. But then he started to resent brahmins, and handled ghee in a state of impurity.

He always performed his sacrificial duties zealously, and offered his sacrifices to me alone. But then he foolishly praised the worlds and so was oppressed by Time. I have left him, Shakra, and will abide in you, Vasava. You must support me with diligence, asceticism and vigor.
