Mongol
The glaze that has come to be known as Mongol first received wide recognition in 1904 when the line won first prize at the St. Louis Centennial Exposition. Called oxblood or “sang de boeuf,″ the blood-red glossy glaze was part of the Rozane line. It would turn other colors if refired, and some pieces have been found with hand-painted decoration, and with silver or gold overlay. Some have a Rozane Ware/ Mongol wafer, or paper labels.
