DEAD.  UNTIL NOW, HIS life had no meaning but that one little word would mark the importance of it.

As in his life, he was all alone in death.  No one would miss him.  No one was here to watch him die; to watch him take his final gasp of air.  No one was here to notice just how sick he was.

There were no kind hands to hold his.  There was no one here to show others he was loved.  There was no one to reach out and close his eyelids or to cover his cold blue face.

All of his life, he wanted someone to care for him and love him for who he was.  But now, with his death, he would finally have someone pay attention to him.  They may not know his name, but they would know one thing, he was the first to die.  With his single death, he would start a chain reaction.
