Easter Lunch

Easter was the first family holiday we celebrated with the family at the Breeze Inn, and we’ve been gathering the family together at Tybee on Easter ever since. Our church, St. Michael’s, is only a stroll from both houses and was originally built by church members who were boat-builders. After Mass, we come home and hunt Easter eggs while Tom fires up the grill for his famous garlic-marinated leg of lamb. The menu varies according to my mood—and what friends arrive with covered dishes—but the lamb and the delicious medley of spring green vegetables, rice pilaf, and my mother’s beloved carrot cake with maple–cream cheese frosting never vary.
