“What in the fuck is that noise?” Tyson asks from behind me. His morning wood stuffed between my legs.
“It’s my alarm, silly. I have to get up and get ready for work.” I lace my fingers through his hand that’s resting on top of mine and bring them up for a kiss.
He groans grumpily. Tyson isn’t a morning person it seems.
“Can we call in sick and stay in bed all day? I’ll make it worth your while.” He asks, burying his face into my hair.
“We stayed in bed all day yesterday. Don’t you need some down time?” I know I sure could use the rest.
I turn in his arms to see his light green eyes sparkle down at me with mischief.
“Does it feel like I need the rest?” he asks, poking me in the stomach.
It must be nice to be twenty-five.
I shake my head and then kiss his chest in apology. “I’m sorry, but I have to go in, I’ve got an important meeting this afternoon.”
“Fine,” he pouts, resting his head on mine. “Do I have to pretend I don’t know you at the office still?”
“We know each other, but you can’t let on that you’re my lover. At least until your hired on as a full-time employee. I don’t want anyone thinking you got the job because you’re sleeping with me.”
Rolling me onto my back, Tyson hovers over me. His erection poking me in the thigh. “What about outside of the office?”
“You can know me as much as you’d like outside of work.” I watch as his eyes blaze with something unnamed.
“Are you mine?” he asks with possession clear in his voice. “Are we exclusive?”
I rest my hands on his sculpted chest wanting to shove him away. I don’t know why I’m irritated by his questions, but I am. “I’m not having sex with anyone else, and I sure as hell hope you’re not either.”
“We are exclusive,” he demands. “I’m not having sex with anyone else, and I don’t want to.”
“Good,” I snap and push him off me. “Now, I need to get ready for work.”
“Sadie,” he calls, his voice soft with uncertainty. He watches me from the bed in confusion as I step into the bathroom.
I rush through my shower not wanting to start the week off by being late and wondering what Tyson’s doing since I left him puzzled in bed. The reminder of him having sex with multiple women makes me insanely jealous. I know I’m being irrational, but I can’t help it.
As I start to turn off the water, I notice Tyson standing at the entrance to the shower. The only place he could see me with the all tile walls with only a curved opening for entry. His arms are stretched out above him with his legs wide apart, and one hundred percent naked.
I look at him, and melt. Tyson Jacobs is the most gorgeous man on the planet to gaze at, but on the inside, I’m learning he’s just as beautiful. What’s he doing with me? Every time I look at him, I want to lick every inch of him, as does every woman in the city.
“You want to tell me what happened back there? One minute I think you’re going to blow me and the next…” he shakes his head wearing a frown. “You got pissed off.”
Walking over to grab the towel from the warming rack, I start to dry myself while keeping my eyes trained on him. “I got jealous.”
His straight brows furrow. “I’m confused. I asked you to be exclusive and you get jealous?”
“Something like that.” I flash a hesitant smile. “And you didn’t ask.”
Removing the distance between us, Tyson pulls the towel from between my fingers and starts to dry me meticulously. Keeping his eyes on his task while staying silent. Once I’m thoroughly dry, he pulls me by the hand and leads me to sit on the bed.
Sad eyes look down at me. “Tell me what’s going on. If you don’t want to be with me, you only have to tell me. I thought,” he croaks, his Adam’s apple bobbing. “I thought we cleared this all up two nights ago.”
“We did,” I nod, my throat dry. “And I do want to be with you.”
“Don’t take this the wrong way,” he sighs deeply and shakes his head. “I thought with you being almost forty, you’d be better at this.”
I laugh at the bewildered look on his face. “You’d think, right? It seems I suck at this. Maybe so much that I turn men gay.”
A laugh breaks through his already smiling lips. “There’s no chance in that.”
“I hope not because I like you,” I confess.
“Good. I want you to know there’s no reason for you to be jealous.” His gaze slowly takes me in. “I can promise you I’m not a cheater. I like you. A lot. If I confessed how much, you’d run away, quit your job, and change your number.”
“I doubt it,” I scoffed.
A bark of laughter leaves his perfect mouth. “Woman, do you not remember just a few minutes ago?”
“If we’re going to be together,” I say hesitantly, biting the inside of my cheek. “You should probably know that I get a little irrational when it’s close to that time of the month.”
His eyes widen. “This is PMS?”
“It normally only lasts for a couple of days,” I inform him with a smile. “It’s worse when I’m stressed.”
He nods, eyes still wide. “Good to know.”
“Do you have any crazy secrets or behaviors you need to tell me about?” I ask with a curl of my lips.
“Only how much I like you, but let’s wait for that.”
“Well,” I laugh. “You’re kind of hinting at it, but I’ll try to forget about it.”
Leaning over, Tyson places a soft kiss to my waiting lips. “I hate to say it, but we have to get ready for work.” He closes his eyes in pain. “I don’t know how I’m not going to touch you at work. To pretend we’re just…”
“We’ll figure it out.” I respond quietly, resting my forehead to his.
