Key to the Abbreviations

For those who would like to compare the translation to the German, I have placed the German text immediately following the English. At the end of each quote, English translations are marked with the abbreviation of the English title followed by either the aphorism number or, when there is no aphorism number, the page number of the English translation. German passage is cited by its place in the Kritische Gesamtausgabe Werke.

All of the following were written by Friedrich Nietzsche.
