The Cutest Little Pie Shop in the Whole Wide World
My dream of owning a pie shop evolved on my Cape Cod honeymoon, when my husband and I stumbled upon a darling pie shop in one of the quaint villages. I was immediately smitten with the scurry of the bakers, the aroma of cinnamon, and the pies lined neatly in cases. I was enchanted … and enamored with the thought of creating my own little shop, retro-adorable, pink, and full of love!
I kept this sentiment close to my heart for over twenty years, dreaming of how cute it would someday be. I started gathering old tables, chairs, pie safes, dishes, and pink doilies at garage sales and stored them in our barn. I also honed my pie-baking skills, perfecting a collection of delicious pies for my family and friends to enjoy, with the hope of my customers someday enjoying them as well.
Patience and perseverance always pay off, as one cold November day in 2005, Sweetie-licious, the cutest little pie shop in the whole wide world, was born! Spices, Sinatra, and love suffused the little bakery. Cases were filled with dreamy cream pies and bursting fruit pies, all lined up in rows and ready for the world to finally enjoy. Everything was as I had dreamed of, right down to pink bakery boxes!
Today, thousands and thousands of pies and customers later, it has become the destination pie shop I knew it could be. It warms my heart to know how my pies have made so many folks’ birthdays, holidays, and everyday dinners delightful, weddings unforgettable, and celebrations memorable. I love that people from all over the country come to soak in the nostalgia, the delicious homemade fare, and the experience of an old-fashioned pie shop.
To this day, when I walk in the front door, I am mesmerized and humbled by its pie magic. For it is, indeed, the cutest little pie shop in the whole wide world!
Eat pie, love life.
