COMING BACK to the Island at night, winter or summer, you can spot the Tavern on the beach from the ferry deck as you enter Vineyard Haven harbor. With candles alight in the windows, it offers a warm welcome home. Inside, there’s a pause in conversation as the light of the ferry beacon illuminates the beach and harbor, and all are once again reminded of the beauty around them. We are lucky to be in such a magical place, and our cooks (also known as the “dinner gods”) offer fare to match. Dinner at The Black Dog defines comfort in every respect ~ from your own (wear what you like) ~ to your choice of wine (bring it to drink it). You may not be able to duplicate our location, but our recipes will bring a bit of the flavor of The Black Dog to the comfort of your home.
