HOW TO USE THIS BOOK
I never, in my wildest imagination, could have conjured the usage derived by readers of Arkansas Pie: A Delicious Slice of the Natural State and Classic Eateries of the Ozarks and Arkansas River Valley. For me, a book is to be savored from cover to cover. The idea of taking small bites wasn’t apparent.
However, that’s how certain readers have taken these tomes, stashing them away in glove compartments, ready to access them in any of the cities within the book’s regional coverage. The handy index in the back makes it easy to search by city for restaurants along the route.
This book is set up for your reading pleasure. Consume it from front to back if you wish, or utilize it as a roadmap to culinary adventures. The listings within have been carefully laid out along the Arkansas Delta’s roadways, highways, byways and passages. It is possible to reach every location in the order recorded within; however, I’d suggest giving yourself weeks to accomplish this trick. After all, there are few who can sustain dining repeatedly when the number of eateries surpasses one hundred.
Consider this guide a “Choose Your Own Adventure,” whether in your vehicle or your recliner, and if you get hung up or a restaurant is closed, feel free to message me for another recommendation. After all, Arkansas has so many great restaurants to offer.
One more thing: There are many classic restaurants in this region, and though months of diligent research were conducted, I know there are likely a handful of great eateries I missed. That’s the nature of a book like this. I hope I’ve completed it to serve you best.
