Corny Crispy Rice Treats

Makes 1-1/2 to 2 dozen

1/2 c. butter

9 c. mini marshmallows

10 c. crispy rice cereal

1 c. candy corn

1 c. Indian candy corn

3/4 c. mini semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 drops yellow and 1 drop red food coloring

20 candy pumpkins

Melt together butter and marshmallows in a large saucepan over medium heat; stir until smooth. In a large bowl, combine cereal, candy corn and chocolate chips. Blend food coloring into marshmallow mixture, adding more coloring if necessary to reach desired shade of orange. Add marshmallow mixture to cereal mixture; stir quickly to combine. Spread in a buttered 13"x9" baking pan; press with buttered hands. While still warm, press on candy pumpkins spaced 1-1/2 to 2 inches apart. Refrigerate for one hour, or until firm; cut into squares. To make thinner treats, use a 15"x10" jelly-roll pan.

A treat and a costume all in one! Once Corny Crispy Rice Treats are wrapped and inside a brown lunch bag, fold the top down, tie on a rubber nose and top with a witch’s hat.
