One way to prepare the body and mind for the day is to start with a little creativity. In the village, meals are uncomplicated, most made from just a handful of ingredients, but I try to enliven things by combining ingredients in unexpected ways, like my Sprouted Cinnamon-Maple French Toast. For many of us, breakfast can be a rushed affair, hardly giving us a chance to appreciate what we’re eating. Take the time to slow down and savor if you can, or just find a few minutes to sit and enjoy the morning sun with your tea. The ritual of enjoying the beginning of a new day is just as important as the meal itself.
