The Tourist Information Office

Essential Information

• Most towns and many villages in Italy have a tourist office, run by the regional or local tourist boards. Look for the following signs.

Ufficio Informazioni Turistiche
Ente Turismo

• You can also get information from the Touring Club and Automobile Club offices, often indicated by the abbreviations TCI (Italian Touring Club) and ACI (Italian Automobile Club). ACI also offers help with car repairs and accidents.

• These offices provide free information in the form of leaflets, pamphlets, brochures, lists, transportation schedules, and maps. There may be a charge for some of these, but this is not typical.

• For finding a tourist information office, see p. 10.
