15. What kind of friend is God?

A:

God is a better friend than you can ever imagine. He isn’t just kind—his name is love (1 John 4:7-8). He isn’t just smart—he can count the hairs on your head (Matthew 10:30). He doesn’t just own a big house—he rules the whole universe (Psalm 103:19).

To help you understand how great a friend God is, think of all the people you trust most. Like your parents, who give you a home, food, clothes, and love. Or your friends, who make you laugh. Or the police, who protect you. Or your favorite aunt, who never forgets your birthday. God is like all those special people rolled into one, except he is far better. He is perfect! No one else is as loving, powerful, kind, and smart. He is God!

LORD, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask your aid… For you are great and perform great miracles. You alone are God.
