A:

The Bible is different from most books because it is really many smaller books in one—66, to be exact. More than 40 people helped write the Bible. The Bible was written over a long time—more than 1500 years. Its writers lived in Asia, Africa, and Europe and wrote in three different languages: Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.

Yet the Bible is different from all books in an even more important way: It is the totally true Word of God, the Creator of the whole universe. God had the writers put into the Bible exactly what he wanted us to know about himself. He gave us the Bible so we would know how we can trust God’s Son, Jesus, and enjoy life that lasts forever with him in heaven. When we want to know how to live close to God, there’s no other book like the Bible!

You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.
