Think about what it would be like to be in the middle of a board game when everyone started to make up new rules. The game would fall apart. Suddenly the fun would be over.

It’s exactly like that when people try to decide right and wrong for themselves. Even though it sounds great to make your own rules, people get along far better when we have rules we can count on—rules that don’t change, rules made by someone who knows what is best for everyone. Because God is wise and totally unselfish, he makes perfect rules. He makes these rules clear in the Bible. He loves you too much to leave it up to you to pick right and wrong!

The word of the LORD holds true, and everything he does is worthy of our trust. He loves whatever is just and good, and his unfailing love fills the earth.
