Q:
62. How does God help me choose to do the right thing?
A:
God doesn’t ask you to do the job of making right choices all alone. He gives you his Word to teach you right from wrong (Psalm 119:105). He shows you how to escape temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13).
He also helps in a way you might not have thought of: by promising to meet your every need (Philippians 4:19). That is God’s big way of getting rid of your reasons to do wrong. God knows you need friends, for example, and he will show you how to get friends without doing bad stuff to wow them. He knows you need to do well in school, and he will help you study and do your best without cheating. As you live close to God—telling him about your problems and asking him to meet your needs—he will help you. You never have to do bad things to get God’s good stuff!
