Q:
66. Does God care what job I have when I grow up?
A:
God cares about everything that’s important to you—especially something as huge as the 300 million seconds you will spend working as a grown-up. Perhaps you will get a job in an office or a store, work in a hospital or at a church, or start your own business. You may become a farmer or carpenter, travel as a salesperson, work at home caring for a family, or become a missionary. Whatever work you choose to do as an adult, this is one of the biggest decisions you will ever make.
And God has a plan for you. In Ephesians 2:10 we read, “We are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so that we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” God made you his special work of art—a one-of-a-kind bundle of gifts—and he decided long ago what good work you would do!
