75. Will everybody go to heaven?

A:

There’s only one way people can go to heaven when they die. It’s by trusting Jesus while they are alive. Everyone who trusts Jesus will live forever in heaven with God. People who say no to God’s gift of forgiveness will live away from God and his people forever (John 5:24-29; Matthew 25:31-46).

God’s biggest desire is for people to turn away from their sins—the bad things they do—and come back to him. They can do this by trusting Jesus as their Savior, admitting he is the only one who can forgive them and help them become friends with God. We should be eager to tell others about Jesus, so we can bring as many people with us to heaven as we can!

The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise to return, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to perish, so he is giving more time for everyone to repent.
