Two of the bad guys ran to tackle me and BOOM. Bad guy number two took a lightning bolt to the chest and BOOM I shot a light fixture off the ceiling that hit bad guy number three in the head, and he folded like a lawn chair. Only one bad guy left. Everybody was looking at me with their mouths wide open, including bad guy number four, the leader. My hands sparkled with energy at my sides.

“Are you going to surrender or do you want the shock of your life?” Now that’s a cool catch phase! I heard Ronald say.

“If you take one more step towards me, kid, you’re gonna get it!”

“What am I gonna get, a shower?”

“Okay, chump, you asked for it.” KA-BOOM! I hit him with a lightning bolt so hard it knocked him through the front door. He rolled down the stairs and landed right in front of Officer Taylor. All was silent for a moment before the crowd erupted into cheers.

The hostages ran to me, thanking me, hugging me; one lady even pinched my cheeks. I pushed my way through the crowd just as the police swarmed onto the building.

“STOP!” one of the officers yelled at me.

“I don’t think so,” I said over my shoulder and flew back up the stairs and out the utility closet window. As I zipped over the building I could see flashes from dozens of cameras below.

In a few minutes, I was back in Ronald’s bedroom. I changed into my regular clothes, finish my homework and rushed to get home before dinner. At the table all my family could talk about was the attempted robbery at the Dollar Bill Bank that they had seen on the news.

“I can’t believe a kid in orange tights saved the bank from being robbed?” Dad said.

“They weren’t tights,” I mumbled under my breath.

“And it is very refreshing that he didn’t stick around to take all the credit,” Mom said.

“There’s no way a kid in a super-suit could stop a bank robbery. That’s ridiculous. Please pass the peas,” I said and somehow managed to keep a straight face.
