Chapter 21

Serenity

I swirled around in the store’s full-length dressing room mirror, admiring the A-line black laced party dress. It was belted at the waist to make the waist appear smaller than it actually was. The hemline stopped just above my knees, showing off my legs. It molded nicely to my backside if I did say so myself.

The price would not set Jon back too much either, I thought, as I looked at the $780 price tag, although he said price was not an issue. I already had the perfect pair of black red bottom, high heeled, peep toed shoes to go with the dress.

This was the fifth dress that I’d tried on and this one was a keeper. It accentuated my thickness and made me feel sexy and hot to boot. I twirled around in the mirror one more time, admiring my reflection, and truly loving what I saw.

Come on out and let me look at you,” Shauntay called through the dressing room door impatiently.

I opened the door and stepped out and swirled around for my friend’s perusal.

You look absolutely beautiful,” she gasped in awe. “I love it.”

I love it, too. Out of all the dresses I tried on, I love this one the best.”

Girl, those peep toe heels you bought last month will go perfect with that dress.”

You read my mind. That’s the exact thing I was thinking. Great minds do think alike,” I added teasingly.

You got that right. You should have the twins eating out of your hands in that getup.”

Shut up! You’re so crazy. The only man I want to desire me is the one I already have.”

Stop being so serious. I’m only messing with you. You already know how I am,” Shaun said.

Yes, I do know how you are, that’s why I have to keep both of my eyes on you. You will have me getting into some serious trouble.”

Who, me?” she asked, her eyes full of innocence. “It’s me who has to keep my eyes on you, all four of them,” she teased referring to her glasses, “because you’re the one who might get to be the meat inside a sandwich with those two hunky twins.”

I looked at her and rolled my eyes. I returned to the dressing room without another word. Shauntay was just too much. She could be heard giggling behind the closed door. I quietly giggled too, while carefully removing the dress to hang it on a padded hanger. I quickly dressed so that I could make my purchase. I stood in line with my friend and couldn’t help but to be amused by her. I had one crazy ass friend and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
