Conclusion
WE hope you come to the end of this book with a sense of hope and direction. Students with emotional and behavioral challenges, whether identified in the special education system or not, do have a chance to lead successful and happy lives. We hope you have seen the importance of attitude and its effects on progress and have gained a multitude of strategies and ideas to help facilitate behavioral change. We hope you will remember that the disabilities that these students face are invisible, yet real and often painful. Society has misunderstood the nature and needs of emotional and behavioral challenges for too long. It is time to advocate for these students and to use positive, therapeutic interventions to help them lead the lives they want. We hope your student with emotional and behavioral challenges seeks and finds school success.
