Every Knee Shall Bow, Every Tongue Confess
Philippians 2:9-11; No tongue can tell, no pen can write, no man can utter, no human mind can conceive of the glory, majesty, might, power, and dominion that is Christ's. He is the Lord God Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth and all that in them is, the Eternal Jehovah, the Holy One of Israel, the Savior and Redeemer. He made the earth; salvation comes by him; his atoning sacrifice is infinite and eternal.
Philippians 2:9-11; "Hear, O ye heavens, and give ear, O earth, and rejoice ye inhabitants thereof, for the Lord is God, and beside him there is no Savior. Great is his wisdom, marvelous are his ways, and the extent of his doings none can find out. His purposes fail not, neither are there any who can stay his hand. From eternity to eternity he is the same, and his years never fail." (D&C 76:1-4.)
Philippians 2:9-11; Since Christ is the Savior, since all things pertaining to life and salvation center in him, since he is God—it follows that all men must turn to him and his gospel for salvation, and that in his own due time he shall receive the worship and adoration of all men. Indeed, to all men, by the mouth of Isaiah, Israel's Jehovah said: "Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else. I have sworn by myself, the word is gone out of my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, That unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear." (Isaiah 45:22-23.)
Philippians 2:9-11; How appropriate, then, for Paul, knowing that the Lord Jesus was the Lord Jehovah, to apply Isaiah's pronouncement to Christ. And how appropriate also for Christ himself to say to Joseph Smith that when he "shall have subdued all enemies under his feet,... Then shall he be crowned with the crown of his glory, to sit on the throne of his power to reign forever and ever"; and to add, speaking of the telestial hosts, whose numbers shall be "as the stars in the firmament of heaven, or as the sand upon the sea-shore," that "These are they who are cast down to hell and suffer the wrath of Almighty God, until the fulness of times, when Christ shall have subdued all enemies under his feet, and shall have perfected his work; When he shall deliver up the kingdom, and present it unto the Father, spotless, saying: I have overcome and have trodden the wine-press alone, even the wine-press of the fierceness of the wrath of Almighty God. Then shall he be crowned with the crown of his glory, to sit on the throne of his power to reign forever and ever. But behold, and lo, we saw the glory and the inhabitants of the telestial world, that they were as innumerable as the stars in the firmament of heaven, or as the sand upon the seashore; And heard the voice of the Lord saying: These all shall bow the knee, and every tongue shall confess to him who sits upon the throne forever and ever." (D&C 76:106-110.)
