Martha Ronk is the author of a number of books of poetry, most recently, In a landscape of having to repeat (Omnidawn), winner of the PEN USA best poetry book 2005, and Vertigo (Coffee House Press), a 2007 National Poetry Series selection. She is the recipient of a 2007 NEA grant and has had residencies at both the MacDowell Colony and Djerassi. As a Professor of Renaissance literature at Occidental College in Los Angeles, she has written academic articles on Shakespeare, specifically on ekphrasis, an extended verbal description of a visual object.
