Capture those million dollar ideas

As a businessperson and entrepreneur, you continuously have ideas. The best ideas usually come in the shower, right? The ideas are so clear that you know if you implemented them, you’d make a million dollars! We all get these ideas from time to time.

In fact, the only difference between your idea and someone else’s million dollar idea is that they wrote it down and took action on it! I believe our Creator is kind. He treats us all equally and gives us all equal opportunities. But I also believe that if you don’t take advantage of your ideas, you will stop getting them.

Whatever the nature of your business, you will have ideas on how to improve it. Maybe you saw something or talked to someone, maybe the idea came to you in the shower, in the car, or in the middle of the night. You are certain that the idea could change the course of your life. But if you don’t write it down within a few hours, it will be gone forever.

That’s why you should always carry a voice recorder and notepad with you. When you get the idea, record it, write it down, and make it a weekly habit to review both your oral and written notes.

I got a lot of ideas for my books in the shower. As soon as I leave the shower, I write them down. A mentors once told me: “If you don’t immediately write those ideas or jail them, you are not going to get anymore!”

There has been much written about subliminal thought and the power of the subconscious mind. I have read much on it, and what I can share with you as your marketing master is that your mind has the answer to any problem you may have. You just need to challenge it. Don’t worry about how you will achieve your goal; you need to just focus on why you need to achieve it. Psychologists tell us the how will appear (this is the answer from the subconscious). Your job is to focus on the why. When you get the answer, write it down.

All businesses start with a simple idea that one day becomes reality. A book starts as a train of thought, ideas that are captured and then strung together in a logical format. When people ask me how I came up with eighty-one moves, I tell them I committed myself to find eighty-one of the most revenue-generating moves. As they came along, I wrote them down. And they just kept coming. Black belt marketers recognize that the answers will appear once the commitment is made!
