Dress in clothing you can get soaked in. Fill a bucket with detergent and water from the hose. Work together to scrub your car clean on the outside and polish the windows on the inside. Let your daughter use the hose to spray off the soap (and you, of course!). If you’re feeling really ambitious, take the floor mats out and let her vacuum them clean. Praise her for a job well done.

Talk about why your car was so dirty. Is the mud on the flaps from the last rainy day you had? Are the bugs on the windshield from your recent drive in the country? Our vehicles lose their shine as they travel through the mud and muck of the world around us.
The same is true for our hearts sometimes. It can be hard to keep a pure heart when the sin of the world is surrounding us. Talk about the following verses, and be encouraged!

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. (Gal. 1:3–4)
Dear Father,
Thank you for forgiving us of all our sins and giving us clean hearts. We pray that you would make us holy, just like you are holy. Protect us from loving the world more than we love you. We want to look like Jesus! Amen.
