Cut a piece of blue construction paper into six pieces. Use markers to write the name of a fun activity on each of the pieces, such as bowling, biking, playing at the park, swimming, playing mini-golf, or playing a video game.
Cut a piece of green construction paper into six pieces. On each piece write the name of a small gift like stickers, pencils, candy, nail polish, jewelry, or a notebook.
Cut a piece of red construction paper into six pieces. Write the names of different places to go for dessert or a snack on each piece.
Fold the pieces of construction paper so you can’t see what is written on them. Start with the blue pieces of paper. Play Rock, Paper, Scissors. Whoever wins two out of three gets to draw one of the blue pieces of paper to name your activity choice for the day.
Repeat this game with the green papers to choose a small gift to purchase for your daughter. Then play the game with the red pieces of paper to decide where you will go for a treat on your date.
Get in the car and go have a great time playing together. Stop at a store to pick out the gift that was chosen for your daughter.
Wrap up your time together with a treat or a snack before heading home.
Every girl wants to believe that she is captivating, worth fighting for. She wants to know . . . Am I Lovely? Only you, Dad, can answer those questions. That makes you the most powerful man in your child’s life.

No matter which activity, gift, and treat you ended up with, it was bound to be a great combo for a wonderful time together! Don’t you wish you could make all your decisions just by playing Rock, Paper, Scissors? How do we know what to do when we have tough choices to make?
God promises that if we need wisdom we just have to ask him and he’ll come through.
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:5)
I instruct you in the way of wisdom
and lead you along straight paths.
When you walk, your steps will not be hampered;
when you run, you will not stumble.
Hold on to instruction, do not let it go;
guard it well, for it is your life. (Prov. 4:11–13)
Dear Father,
We’re so glad that you are in control—we don’t have to be afraid of an uncertain future. Thank you for your promise to give us wisdom when we need it. Teach us to come to you with our tough choices. We know you will guide us and help us by your Spirit. Most of all, give us hearts that want to do your will and live for you. You are good! Amen.
