away and sighed, squeezing his hands into fists inside his pockets. Well. He’d already gone back on his promise to Angelica not to mention her investigation. No doubt she’d be furious. Still, he had said nothing about her primary theory: that Wade Erickson was a member of the Markham Ring. And besides, he’d stood by his convictions; Monica and Angelica should speak to each other, and not in an interrogation. Then Angelica could air her beliefs herself.
Meanwhile, Angelica had given him work to do. He pulled his phone out of his pocket, stared at it, and sighed. May as well get the hardest task out of the way first.
