8. Political Cartoonist

Humorous illustrators who also have an interest in current political events can express their frustrations, fears, desires, and hopes for the planet, a country, or a cause by entering the domain of political illustration. Though the demand for politically oriented cartoons has a worldwide need, the room on this stage is very tight indeed and it’s best to start on the local front if one has hopes for entering the national or international scene. To a degree, this field is limited to editorials in both print and on the web, but its uses can extend beyond these confines. A careful study of political art over the years will assist the budding political cartoonist to find his or her own vision, style, and slant in this culturally-valuable and highly-respectable profession.
