An exhibition design artist is one who designs and renders presentations for museum exhibits, illustrations for diorama displays, or even theater stage sets. They can work independently, but most start their careers with a team under the direction or employ of a museum, theater group, director or producer, historical site, or a retail or commercial firm. Art for this market ranges from background paintings to entire three-dimensional sets. This market can be exciting and rewarding work for those artists whose abilities span into both 2-D and 3-D visual art.
