“You’re so beautiful.” Juno placed her hand against the ship view-port and matched Callie’s own hand print.
The comm crackled and Callie responded. “I’m sorry I’ve been away.”
“It’s okay.” Her eyes were brightest turquoise, even brighter than when she left. “You’re here.”
“You can let me in, honey.”
Tears welled in Juno’s eyes and she wanted nothing more than to let her lover in. She wished she had never thrown her out the lock, infected and suitless. That she had never seen the blue virus in her eyes.
“I’m sorry,” Juno said, and went to check on the injured.
