A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR

image

Dear Reader,

I hope you enjoyed Will and Maggie’s journey to reconciliation. This story deals with some heavy issues that I pray I’ve handled well. You see, I have personal experience with some of these topics, though names, characters, places, and incidents are either products of my imagination or used fictitiously.

You see, I have a brother who suffers from schizophrenia. Helplessly watching him navigate life is painful for this big sister. So, while Todd’s schizophrenia was brought on by medication, and he was ultimately healed, my brother will continue to struggle with his mental illness. It’s only through God that we can find solace in his condition.

Likewise, I’m familiar with the pain of a child gone missing. My half-sister was taken by her father when she was two. Because I went into foster care and disconnected from my biological family, I spent years wondering what she might look like at age four...six...ten...or if I’d ever see her in person again. In this story, we don’t know if Will and Maggie will ever see Drew, but I am happy to report that by God’s grace, my sister and I have finally been reunited.

Will and Maggie’s marriage reconciled, but I know that isn’t always the case. This is one reason why my husband, Jerry Angelo, and I have dedicated our lives to helping individuals, couples, and families strengthen their marriage through our nonprofit. We simply want to help others avoid the pain we’ve been through.

In the end, I wanted to write an entertaining story for you, Dear Reader. One that shows the power of God’s grace and mercy when you have Him as your rock.
