S. W. O’Connell holds degrees in both History (Fordham University) and International Relations (University of Southern California). He is a retired US Army intelligence officer who spent the majority of his service in the field of counterintelligence. Most of his time was spent overseas in US Army Europe and Allied Command Europe, but he does admit to a tour in the Pentagon and a stint at the John F. Kennedy Center for Special Warfare at Fort Bragg.
A native New Yorker, S. W. O’Connell settled in northern Virginia when he returned from his last overseas tour. His long-held love of history made it only natural that he would turn to the historical novel when he finally succumbed to a decades-long urge to craft fiction.
The Patriot Spy is his first novel in the Yankee Doodle Spies series.
