Finished size — 7½″, without toggle piece
Skill Level — Beginner
This chic watchband is one of the easiest crochet projects you'll ever make. You can finish it in about an hour!
Sc circle — make 6 (more or less, depending on wrist size).
Loosely ch 2, in second ch work 15 sc, join to first sc. End off.
Note: Ch 2 loosely so the hole in the circle is big enough for the bead to fit. Then, the hole can be loosened or tightened with tail, depending on the bead size.
Connect 1 circle to bar on each side of watch face with yarn needle and cord. If cord is too thick, you can untwist the cord and use 1 ply as your thread. Attach 2 more circles on each side (3 circles on each side total). With needle and thread, sew beads to inside of each circle. Sew toggle closure to each end.
Use black yarn for sophisticated elegance.
1 spool (200 g/97 yd.) 100% nylon cord (see resources, pg. 125) in multi-color greens and dark red
Size D/3 (3.25 mm) hook
1 watch face with bars on sides (1″–1.4″ in diameter)
1 silver toggle set for closure
6 flat 3/8″ silver decorative beads
Yarn needle
Used in this project:
Hilos 100% nylon cord #18 in color # 74, multi color-greens and cranberry (note: lighter green is cut off so circles will have only olive green and cranberry). Substitute J&P Coats Crochet nylon cord.
1 sc circle = 1″ in diameter
Do you just ride along and let life lead you to who knows where? Do you have a purpose or direction in your life? Terry, in his seminar, points out that if we haven't decided where we're going, we don't know which way to turn, and have no idea if we're off course. Having a clear idea of where you want to go reverses both of these problems. You have the power to control your destiny, so take control and find a purpose for living!
