If you're short on time, this is the project for you! Sometimes novelty yarns are difficult to work with because it's hard to see the stitches. The extra-large hook helps you to see the stitches, and the bulky yarn makes this vest work up super-fast for instant gratification. It's fitted and flattering — what more could you ask for?

Materials:

2 (2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5) skeins (4 oz./113 g/89 yd.) yarn in blue/green

Size Q (16 mm) hook

2 yd. 1½″ brown ribbon

Yarn needle

Used in this project: Yarn Bee Artistry Yarn in Monet (from Hobby Lobby)

Gauge:

4 dc = 3¾″

3 dc rows = 4″ (since there are sps between the dcs, be sure and measure from the center of the sps and not from the edge of the dcs)

Words of Encouragement

Instant gratificiation has is own magnetism, but we need to take the time to stop and think about the consequences of an action. There are some people in this world who do not seem to have a conscience, and they usually have a difficult life. I heard a statement once that I really agree with: “Some people have amnesia to consequences.” Practicing being alert to unwanted consequences helps with life's climate control, preventing unnecessary storms.
