Jack is the CEO of the Canfield Training Group in Santa Barbara, California, and founder of the Foundation for Self-Esteem in Culver City, California. Amy Newmark is the publisher of Chicken Soup for the Soul, after a thirty-year career as a writer, speaker, financial analyst, and business executive in the worlds of finance and telecommunications. Amy is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College, where she majored in Portuguese, minored in French, and traveled extensively. She is also the mother of two children in college and two grown stepchildren who are recent college graduates.

After a long career writing books on telecommunications, voluminous financial reports, business plans, and corporate press releases, Chicken Soup for the Soul is a breath of fresh air for Amy. She has fallen in love with Chicken Soup for the Soul and its life-changing books, and really enjoys putting these books together for Chicken Soup’s wonderful readers.

Game inventor Laura Robinson often says she has been “selling laughter for over twenty years.” She is the co-inventor of the best-selling classic bluffing game Balderdash (over 15 million copies sold worldwide). Along with business partner Elizabeth Bryan, Laura invented the Count Your Blessings game, based on an earlier game concept created with Los Angeles-based writer Rachel Naples. Known as one of the “Thomas Edisons of the Toy Industry,” Laura also launched Identity Crisis, the Funniest Game about Famous Names in 2007. She is featured in the 2005 book Women Invent and has been a keynote speaker at various inventors’ symposiums.

Laura is also an actor/musician and has enjoyed a successful career in film and television both in Los Angeles and Toronto. She was a regular on the CBS crime series Night Heat, and guest starred on many popular television shows, including Frasier and Cheers and just completed filming a music reality show, called Big Voice scheduled to air on a major U.S. network, spring 2010.

Laura lives in Toronto with her husband and two children. She is a “mom with a mission,” committed to creating “good message” games and products that celebrate the transformational power of gratitude. With Bryan, Robinson is also launching Win-Win, a family game inspired by “The 7 Habits” series of books.

Elizabeth Bryan is a parent/artist/writer with a mission of sharing the message of gratitude through all things creative. With business partner and Balderdash inventor Laura Robinson, Bryan developed the current Chicken Soup for the Soul: Count Your Blessings game, which was inspired by an earlier version developed with writer Rachel Naples.

Elizabeth and Laura are committed to creating good-message games that bring families together through joy and play. They are also set to release a family game with Franklin Covey entitled Win-Win, based on the bestselling “7 Habits” series of books.

Elizabeth has enjoyed a successful career as an artist and has work in collections throughout the United States. She is also known for her unique clothing designs which have been worn by numerous celebrities, appeared in Vanity Fair, and have been sold by Wynn Resorts in Las Vegas.

Her passions also extend to helping others access their creative genius. She has been honored by various organizations for her charitable art projects and is also the founder of G.I.F.T. (www.giftproject.net), a non-profit organization committed to creating and marketing products that raise awareness for various causes. G.I.F.T. stands for Gratitude, Inspiration, Focus and Trust—Elizabeth believes that accessing and practicing these four qualities can help all of us reach our fullest potential.
