Extreme differences in elevation and rainfall make generalizing the weather at Olympic National Park exceptionally difficult. Elevation varies from sea level to 7,980 feet at the summit of Mount Olympus. Average annual rainfall varies from 40 to 180 inches depending on where you are. There are distinct dry and wet seasons. Dry season is the most popular time to visit and typically lasts from June through September. Only a few weekend cross-country skiing diehards venture to Hurricane Ridge during the winter.
