Cedar Grove Stables (559.565.3464) has a wider range of services. You can enjoy anything from an hour-long trail ride to multi-day pack trips in Kings Canyon’s backcountry. Backcountry trips include Monarch Divide and Rae Lakes Loop. Big Meadow Corral (559.565.3404, summer • 559.564.6429, winter) is located east of Big Meadows Campground in Sequoia National Forest. They offer half-day, full-day, and extended pack trips. Horseback rides are generally offered from late spring to fall. Reservations are recommended (and required for pack trips). Rates are between $35 and $80 for day-trips and cost upward of $200/day for multi-day backcountry pack trips.
