Serve up some fun with my delicious cake that’s yummy any time of the year, but especially nice during the holiday season. The traditional pumpkin and spices plus the delectable maple glaze give it a real homemade taste.

1package yellow cake mix (regular size)
1can (15 ounces) solid-pack pumpkin
4eggs
1/2cup canola oil
1/3cup sugar
2tablespoons ground cinnamon
1teaspoon ground ginger
1teaspoon ground allspice
1teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4teaspoon ground cloves
GLAZE
2cups confectioners’ sugar
1/4cup 2% milk
2tablespoons maple syrup
1/2teaspoon maple flavoring
1/2cup chopped pecans, toasted
1. Place the first 10 ingredients in a large bowl; beat on low speed for 30 seconds. Beat on medium for 2 minutes. Pour into a greased and floured 10-in. fluted tube pan.
2. Bake at 350° for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan to a wire rack to cool completely.
3. Whisk confectioners’ sugar, milk, syrup and maple flavoring until smooth. Drizzle over cake and sprinkle with pecans.
