Makes 8 servings
6 T. butter, softened
2 T. fresh parsley, minced
2 green onions, finely chopped
2 t. fresh basil, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 t. pepper
1 loaf French bread, halved lengthwise
Combine all ingredients except bread in a small bowl; mix well. Place bread on an ungreased baking sheet, cut-side up. Spread butter mixture over bread. Broil, 4 inches from heat, for 2 to 3 minutes, or until golden. Slice; serve warm. May be kept refrigerated for up to 2 weeks, or wrap and freeze for one month.
Give garlic bread a Greek twist...brush bread slices with olive oil, sprinkle with lemon-pepper, oregano and garlic. Top with feta cheese and sliced Kalamata olives. Delicious!
