Author Ramblings

This story came to me like many stories—while I was driving.

I left myself a note in my notes app so I could come back to once I finished one or any of my open series and didn’t think about it again.

That is, until it came time to write a story for this Xmas anthology and I knew my original plan for a short story was no longer an option.

With much encouragement from a bunch of people, I pulled this idea out of the box, commissioned a cover, and wrote a blurb within a week. Carol really took my idea of Jack and ran with it, making a gorgeous rendition of our girl and an amazing theme for her series.

I sat down to write the tale from my blurb and disaster struck—as usual, my characters ran away with the plot and what followed is so much more than what I originally intended. A character who was meant to be temporary and a bit of a tongue-in-cheek nod at a well known story became a focal point. Relationships that weren’t supposed to exist took root.

A path towards healing was found.

Now that I’ve finished the prequel, I’m more excited than ever to dive into the T&T world with Jack and her crew.

Her and Queenie’s stories are so near and dear to me at this moment in life and they appeared at exactly the right time for me as an author and a person.

I hope you love them as much as I do.

Blood and guts,

Cass
