Figure 7.3: Examples of the spheres of iron and stone, now in the Battlefield Heritage Centre, that have been found in the Bosworth area and suggested as cannonballs from the battle. Top right is a flint nodule. Bottom right is what, judging from it highly smoothed surface, may be a cast iron ball bearing from a canal bridge. Top left is a highly corroded iron ball similar to two from Pinkie battlefield, but this came from a garden in Dadlington village so is likely to be of more modern origin. Bottom left it a cast iron ball showing the distinctive mould line and sprue snap seen on some round shot but, frustratingly, it does not have a secure provenance
