Configuring Stream Channels to allow integration with Teams

You can enable the use of Stream in Microsoft Teams by creating a tab in Teams to point to either an individual video or channel. To add either a video or a channel to Microsoft Teams, follow these steps:

  1. Launch Microsoft Stream (https://web.microsoftstream.com) and navigate to the video or channel that you want to make available in Teams.
  2. Depending on the content you want to share, follow one of these two steps:
    • If you want to share a channel, select the URL bar text for the Stream channel URL and copy it.
    • If you want to share a video, select the ellipsis (...) from the action menu for a video on the Channel page and click Share or click the Share icon when viewing a video:

  1. If you're sharing a video, click the Copy button. If you're sharing a channel, skip this step:

  1. Switch to Microsoft Teams and navigate to the Team channel where you want to share the video or Stream Channel.

  1. Click the + button to create a new tab:

  1. Select the Stream tab:

  1. Paste the URL for either a video or a channel and edit the tab name as appropriate. Click Save when you're finished:

If you link directly to a video, the video will begin playing as soon as you launch the tab. If you link to a channel, a list of the videos that are available on the channel will be displayed.

Next, we'll learn about using Stream in other services.
