The Windows and Mac OS X desktop clients both produce log files that can be used for troubleshooting. Logs can be obtained by using the following process, depending on your operating system:
- For Windows, right-click the Microsoft Teams icon in the system tray and select Get Logs. Logs are located in %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams\logs.txt.
- For Mac OS X, select Get Logs from the Help pull-down menu. Logs are located in ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams/logs.txt.
Reviewing the client's logs should be the first step in determining where potential problems may be. Logs may point to missing files, file access problems, authentication issues, or network communications errors.
