Empaths are gifted at detecting, reading, and processing the energy around them. An empath is a fine-tuned instrument of energy reading.

Empaths are not only open; they can also be the complete opposite. They may be loners who are quiet, withdrawn, depressed, and erratic, for it is easier to shield yourself away from others when you are a psychic sponge soaking in everyone else's negativity. It can certainly be overwhelming. It is because of this that most empaths may find themselves continually drawn to the solitude of nature. The earth's energy is grounding and can recharge their overdraw and spiritual psyche. In this way, nature herself easily becomes an essential element in the life of an empath.

Animals, just as humans, are attracted to the warmth and genuine compassion of empaths. Many empaths will have numerous pets in their home.

On a physical level, the empath's body is a bit different, specifically their nervous system. The nervous system of an empath is extremely sensitive to changes in energy. The nervous system of an empath is extremely sensitive and extremely excitable, much more than a non-empath.
