About the Author

JEFFREY PFEFFER is the Thomas D. Dee II Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he has taught since 1979. Pfeffer has authored or coauthored fourteen books on topics including power, managing people and human resource management practices, organizational design, and evidence-based management. He is also the coauthor of The Knowing-Doing Gap. Pfeffer has presented seminars in thirty-eight countries throughout the world and has been a visiting professor at London Business School, Harvard Business School, Singapore Management University, and IESE in Barcelona. Pfeffer has served on the board of directors of several human capital software companies as well as other public and nonprofit boards. He won the Richard D. Irwin Award for scholarly contributions to management, received an honorary doctorate from Tilburg University, is listed in the top twenty-five management thinkers by Thinkers 50, and has received numerous other awards for books, articles, and his scholarly career.
