Aldrich Canal: Simian-built canal connecting the Rustlake to Móráin Sea.

Ardh Sidhe: One of the Seven Seachtú of Alabach. (Ard Sid-heh)

Argyll the Silverback: Leader of the Simian dissident movement in Penance, formally the head of the Guild of Thieves.

Borris Blackhands: One of the Triad, the governing body of Penance, along with Cathal Carríga and King Diarmuid Móráin III, XIX.

Cormac O’Branna: Father of Morrígan.

Divine Penetrance: Also known as the Gift of Immortality, this is a power passed from father to son through the Móráin line, ensuring the royal bloodline stays intact.

Dromán: Capital of the Woodlands of Alabach, home to the Academy of Mages. (Dro-mawn)

Dustworks: A residential sector of the city of Penance, home to Simians of low social standing.

Earthmaster Seán: Master of Geomancy, based in Penance.

Elis Point: Northernmost point of Alabach, where the Simian Elis Highwind tested the world’s first airship.

Eternal Sea: Sea to the west of Alabach, with no known land beyond it

Farris Silvertongue: An agent of the Triad

Fionn: A young Pyromaster. (Fee-un)

Focus-crystals: Crystals encrypted with magic. Allows for use of magic without the need for a mage.

General-Commander Plackart: General of the Triad’s Army in Penance.

Geomancer: Mage capable of manipulating the earth and Her fruits

Grey Keep: Residence of King Diarmuid Móráin, Third of His name, Nineteenth Incarnate of Seletoth

Grey Plague: Mysterious force that the Firstborn fled 400 years ago. Some speculate it was a sickness, others claim it was a supernatural blight on the earth.

King Diarmuid Móráin: Third of His Name, and Nineteenth Incarnate of Seletoth. Son of King Flaithrí IV, Diarmuid spent his reign attempting to bridge the gap between Man and Simian. (King Dear-myid More-ain)

Lady Meadhbh: One of the Trinity of Alabach. Called the Mother, the Lady, and the Weaver of Fate. Said to have determined the destiny of every living soul in Alabach. (Lady Mayve)

Lord Seletoth: One of the Trinity of Alabach. Called the Father, the Lord, and the Creator. Believed by some to be the One True God, rather than one of three as the Church teaches.

Móráin I: The First King of Alabach, also known as the Old, or the Great. Instead of accepting true divinity from the Lord, he chose to be with his wife. As a compromise, Seletoth bestowed upon him Divine Penetrance, in order to ensure that the Móráin line would never be broken.

Móráin Sea: Sea on the east coast of Alabach

Moray Head: Headland north of Point Grey

Morrígan Ní Branna: Daughter of Aoife Ní Branna, and niece to Yarlaith the White, Roseán. (Morry-gan Nee Branna)

Mount Selyth: A lone peak said to be the residence of Lord Seletoth, though no person has climbed the mountain and returned to confirm the myth.

Padraig Tuathil: Captain of the City Guard in Cruachan. (Pad-rayg Twa-hill)

Penance: The home city of the Simian people following the Final Conquest; named by Lord Seletoth following the Fall of Sin.

Plains of Tierna Meall: Human version of an afterlife, with rolling green hills and summers that last forever. (Plains of Tear-na Myall)

Point Grey: Capital of the Clifflands of Alabach.

Pyromancer: Mage who manipulate fire.

Pyromaster: An expert in all things pertaining to Pyromancy, recognised as such by the Academy of Dromán.

Resonance Crystal: Crystals that, when paired with another, can be manipulated by a crystallographer to relay messages over long distances.

Rosca Umhír: Capital of the Midlands of Alabach (Ros-ka iv-er)

Roseán: Small town in the Clifflands of Alabach, adjacent to the Teeth of the Glenn. (Row-shawn)

Seven Seachtú: Provinces of Alabach. (Seven Shock-two)

Simian: Native people to Alabach, holding science and technology to a hire esteem than faith and magic.

Sin: The name given to the remnants of a once great tower in the centre of the city of Penance.

Sir Bearach: Knight of Keep Carríga—deceased. (Sir Byar-ak)

Slaíne the White: Healer of Dromán—deceased.

Terrían: Capital of the Godlands of Alabach. (Terry-Ann)

The Academy of Dromán: Educational and academic institute based in the Seachtú of Dromán. Thrives on research into the Nature of magic and training young mages. (The Academy of Dro-mawn)

The Black Sail: A smuggling group operating in Cruachan.

The Churchguard: Elite soldiers charged with guarding the Basilica of Penance.

The Clifflands: One of the Seven Seachtú of Alabach, its capital city is Point Grey.

The Dustgate: Entrance to Penance via one if its residential districts.

The Dustworks: Residential district of Penance, home to the Basilica.

The Fall of Sin: An event in the history of Alabach where a tower built by the Simians was cast down by Lord Seletoth for exceeding the height of Mount Selyth.

The Firstborn: Early Humans who conquered Alabach 400 years ago.

The Glenn: A valley separating the greater Penance region from the Alabach’s Seven Seachtú. Uninhabitable as all flora are poisonous, and all fauna, carnivorous.

The Glory of Penance: Airship built for long-distance travel. Decommissioned and used as a trade vessel. Crashed in the Glenn.

The Goldgate: Entrance to Penance via its commercial district.

The Goldworks: Commercial district of Penance.

The Kinglands: One of the Seven Seachtú of Alabach, its capital city Cruachan houses the seat of King Diarmuid III, XIX.

The Rustlake: Lake adjacent to Penance.

The Saltgate: Entrance to Penance via one if its residential districts

The Seven Seachtú of Alabach: The kingdom’s seven provinces. They are (capital cities in parentheses): The Clifflands (Point Grey), The Godlands (Terrían), The Midlands (Ardh Sidhe), The Woodlands (Dromán), The Wetlands (Rosca Umhír), The Floodlands (Tulcha), and Cruachan (Cruachan).

The Steel Mountains: Mountain range that surrounds Penance

The Stonegate: Entrance to Penance via one if its residential districts

The Triad: The governing body of Penance, comprising of Borris Blackhands, Cathal Carríga, and King Diarmuid III XIX.

The Trinity: The three Gods worshipped by Humans in Alabach, comprising of Lord Seletoth (The Father), Lady Meadhbh (The Mother) and King Móráin the First (The Son). The current ruler of Alabach is said to be an incarnation of King Móráin.

Tulcha: Capital of the Floodlands, one of the Seven Seachtú of Alabach. Named after the river that runs through it. (Tul-ka)

Wraiths: Mysterious cloaked figures, agents for the Church, but rumoured to be affiliated with Lord Seletoth directly.
