On the effects of walking the woods
in autumn
Kandinsky said,
‘A never-ending extent of red
can only be seen in the mind.’¹
Such a red
cannot materialize outwardly.
To wit,
Marx will counter:
‘I do not have in mind
some imaginary
possible communism.
But actually existing communism.
This communism is only a special manifestation
of the humanistic
principle which is still infected by its opposite —
private being.’²
Autumn.
The sky streaked with silk parachutes
or by tears.
A sparkling epidemic.
I think if the world truly tore in half it would seep blue.
