Navy notes were prominent in Zhen Xu Cui’s outfit. Ms. Cui, ninety-four, wore a scarf tie blouse with navy blue polka dots peppered throughout the nautical pattern. “I’ve had it for more than thirty years,” she said. “I sewed this shirt myself.”
A sweet addition were the blue buttons, which looked like hard peppermint candies.
She worked as an interior designer, which explains her great sensibility. “I worked everywhere in China,” she said. “Mostly residential.”
Her outfit finished with a tote bag that pokes fun at Britain’s rainy reputation.
